The right of a devisee or legatee, whose device or legacy has been impaired by the payment of debts of the testator, by the payment of charges imposed against the devise or legacy, or by the exercise of the election of the surviving spouse in respect of the will, to have ether devisees and legatees contribute in defraying the loss caused by such impairment. 57 Am J1st Wills §§ 1408, 1502, 1551.
