A variable distance, since it constantly changes as the motorist proceeds, being measured at any moment by the distance between the motorist's vehicle and the limit of his vision ahead, or by the distance between the motorist's vehicle and any intermediate discernible static or forward-moving object in the highway ahead constituting an obstruction in the motorist's lane of travel. 7 Am J2d Auto and H T § 188.
