Crimen trahit personam
A crime draws the person with it. That is, if a criminal act has been committed within the territorial jurisdiction of the court, so that the court has jurisdiction of the crime, it follows that the court also has jurisdiction over the criminal. People v Adams (NY) 3 Denio 190.
