An officer of an admiralty court to whom certain matters in controversy are referred. 2 Am J2d Adm § 195; a person appointed to conduct a judicial sale. 30A Am J Rev ed Jud S § 37; a lawyer appointed to act as a court in hearing cases in order to clear a congested calendar.
