bona fide possessor
A person who is in possession of property and is ignorant of all the facts and circumstances relating to his adversary's title. Henderson v Pickett's Heirs, 20 Ky (4 T13 Mon) 54, 60; actual rather than potential or simulated service, and substantial as distinguished from incidental, sporadic, or infrequent service. Anno: 4 ALR2d 705. (Civil law.) A possessor who believes that no other person has a better right to the possession than himself. See Mackeldey's Roman Law § 243.
