A bill seeking affirmative relief independent of the conflicting claims of the several defendants, which a party may often be allowed to file when he asserts a substantial interest in the fund or property in controversy and hence cannot file a bill to compel other claimants to interplead concerning the same. 30 Am J Rev ed Interpl § 16.
