United States notes

United States notes
Notes issued by the United States under the authority of Congress, intended to circulate as money and with the national bank notes to constitute the credit currency of the country. They were obligations of the United States and each one was an engagement to pay to the bearer a certain number of gold or silver dollars. People ex rel.
