transfer company
A motor carrier. A company engaged primarily in hauling goods from terminal of a common carrier to the place of business or residence of consignee. A railroad company which makes a business of shifting cars delivered to it by a carrier to a siding, house track, or unloading track of the consignee. 14 Am J2d Car § 663.
