An act or agreement, or several acts or agreements having some connection with each other, in which two or more persons are concerned and by which legal relations between them are altered. 1 Am J2d Actions § 108. `As the word is employed in codes of pleading, it means something which has taken place whereby a cause of action has arisen. It must therefore consist of an act or an agreement, or several acts or agreements having some connection with each other, in which more than one person is concerned, and by which the legal relations of such persons between themselves are altered.
