attorney's license

attorney's license
The leave or license of the court which the court grants to an attorney by its judgment of admission to the bar, and without which a person cannot practice as an attorney, even in the absence of any statute on the subject of admission to practice. Such a license may be revoked by the court whenever misconduct renders the attorney holding it unfit to be intrusted with the powers and duties of his office. 7 Am J2d Attys § 12.
