The suspension of imposition of sentence after conviction or plea of guilty for determinate and reasonable period. 21 Am J2d Crim L § 552. Postponement of the judgment of the court temporarily or indefinitely, the conviction and the disabilities arising therefrom remaining and become operative when judgment is rendered.
