surgical aid
A resident physician or interne assisting the surgeon in performing an operation. "Relief pertaining to surgery or used in surgery." In its ordinary significance, the term is not limited to the personal service of the surgeon, but includes all the means and instrumentalities used in surgery which will help to effect a cure.
