Metal spikes attached to the heels of telephone or telegraph linemen, tree surgeons, and other persons whose duties include the climbing of wooden poles or trees, by which the foot carrying the weight of the climber may be anchored to the tree. Small metal prods worn on the heels of horsemen, used in urging the horse to greater speed or in directing the movements of a trained horse.
