- A recognized practice wherein the lien of an attachment or execution is continued in force without the necessity or continued physical custody of the property by the officer who served the writ, such being accomplished by delivering the property to a third person who gives his receipt to the officer and becomes responsible for the safekeeping of the property during the pendency of the action. 6 Am J2d Attach § 550.
