railroad company
A railroad corporation, an association of persons, even a natural person, engaged in the operation of a railroad facility. International & G. N. R. Co. v Dawson, 111 Tex 247, 232 SW 279, 15 ALR 1367. For the purposes of reorganization under provisions of the Bankruptcy Act:- -any common carrier by railroad engaged in the transportation of persons or property in interstate commerce, except a street, a suburban, or interurban electric railway which is not operated as a part of a general railroad system or which does not derive more than 50 percentum of its operating revenues from the transportation of freight in standard railroad freight equipment. Bankruptcy Act § 77(m); 11 USC § 205(m).
