nuclear incident
An occurrence within the United States causing bodily injury, sickness, disease, or death, or loss of or damage to property, or for loss of use of property, arising out of or resulting from the radioactive, toxic, explosive, or other hazardous properties of source, special nuclear, or by-product material; provided, however, as to indemnification agreements in connection with a nuclear-powered ship, it shall mean any such occurrence outside the United States rather than within the United States. 42 USC § 2014(o).
