Meat Inspection Act
A federal statute providing for an elaborate system of inspection of animals before slaughter, of carcasses after slaughter, and of meat food products, with the view of preventing the shipment of impure, unwholesome, and unfit meat and meat food products in interstate and foreign commerce. 34 Stat at L 674, ch 3913; 22 Am J1st Food § 46.
