landed

landed
Owning land. In another sense, having come or been brought ashore. Persons aboard a ship are landed when they are brought ashore, but sailors on a ship have not landed unless they permanently leave the ship, since it is necessary for commerce that sailors should go ashore temporarily and return to the ship.
