judicial writs

judicial writs
Writs which were issued in an action subsequently to the issuance of the original writ or summons, and which issued under the private seal of the court and not under the great seal of England. They were not tested in the king's name, but in the name of the chief justice if there was one, and in the name of the senior justice if there was not. See 3 Bl Comm 282.
