interlocutory order
An order rendered in an action or proceeding by way of provisional relief or upon a motion or application made during the course of the action or proceeding by way of determining the manner or form in which the case shall be presented for a final trial or hearing and an adjudication on the merits; not in itself an adjudication on the merits.
