interim certificate
A receipt issued on a subscription for corporate stock or a purchase of bonds or other securities, to be held by the subscriber or purchaser until the securities purchased are ready for delivery, being in effect the promise or obligation of the issuer to deliver the securities when issued. 11 Am J2d B & N § 28.
