implied confession

implied confession
Admissions by the accused from which guilt may be inferred, whether by words, acts, or, in some instances silence. See 29 Am J2d Ev § 523. A confession which is implied by law where a defendant, in a criminal case not capital, does not directly own himself guilty, but in a manner admits it by yielding to the state's mercy, and desiring to submit to a small fine. Commonwealth v Shrope, 264 Pa 246, 107 A 729, 6 ALR 690, 692.
