Heard Act

Heard Act
A federal statute of 1894 requiring a contractor's bond, containing conditions prescribed by the statute, in any case of a contract for the construction, alteration, or repair of any public building or other public improvement of the United States. 17 Am J2d Cont Bond § 43. The statute has been succeeded by the Miller Act of 1955. 40 USC §§ 270a-270d.
