general disability clause
A disability provision of a health or accident insurance policy, which provides for benefits for total disability preventing the insured from performing any work or following any occupation for compensation or profit, or which indicates in some other way that the insured's disability, in order to be total, is not limited merely to inability to perform the duties of his own particular occupation or profession. 29A Am J Rev ed Ins § 1516.
