The prolongation of a period previously fixed. Modification of an obligation by giving additional time for performance. 11 Am J2d B & N § 297. Prolonging the time for payment of a note to a date beyond the due date stated in the note. Rossville State Bank v Heslet, 84 Kan 315, 113 P 1052. Relief granted to a debtor by a court of bankruptcy in respect of unsecured indebtedness in an arrangement proceeding under the Bankruptcy Act. 9 Am J2d Bankr § 1317. See extension of lease.
