In connection with the stipulated price in a contract for the sale of merchandise: all expenses incurred to the time the goods leave the ship's tackle are to be borne by the seller; all expenses incurred after that time are to be borne by the buyer. Harrison v Fortlage, 161 US 57, 40 L Ed 616, 16 S Ct 488. A bill of sale of goods in bulk at the time of the sale in a foreign country, to be delivered "ex vessel" in New York Harbor, means that the merchandise should be delivered at New York, and not at the place where it was when sold.
