due compensation
Just compensation; the compensation to which a person is entitled. As the term is used in the law of eminent domain, it means the compensation which ought to be made; that is, compensation which will make the owner whole pecuniarily for the appropriation or injury of his property by an invasion of it cognizable by the senses, or by interference with some right in relation to property whereby its market value is lessened as the direct result of the public use.
