power coupled with an interest

power coupled with an interest
A power conferred by a writing which vests in the agent an interest or property in the subject of the agency, not merely an interest in the proceeds or results of the exercise of the agency. Cox v Freeman, 204 Okla 138, 227 P2d 670, 28 ALR2d 430. A power of appointment coupled with an interest in the thing itself, that is to say, a power engrafted on the estate in the thing, not on the product of the exercise of the power. 41 Am J1st Pow §5.
