Peril; a likelihood of injury; a relative term, since all life is to some extent a surmounting of peril. In the general law of negligence it includes such contingent harm or injury as reasonable prudence ought to foresee and provide against, as probably in prospect. Drennen Co. v Jordan, 181 Ala 570, 983, 61 So 938, 23 ALR 981; an ancient duty which the tenant paid for leave to till the soil at certain seasons.
