consolidation of appeals

The joinder on motion to the reviewing court, or on the court's own motion, of appeals from a single judgment or from identical judgments, and from judgments which involve the same question and the same parties. 5 Am J2d A & E § 681; Joining numerous appeals to the court from a single legislative order by an administrative agency, pursuant to an order of the court, thereby permitting the several appeals to be maintained as one appeal. 2 Ain J2d Admin L § 730. Reviewing courts may, and frequently do, without formally consolidating cases, hear and determine two or more of them together for reasons of convenience or because of the similarity of the facts or questions involved. 5 Am J2d A & E § 681.
