colorable claim
A claim which superficially is proper and well-founded, but may actually be invalid; a claim to property by a person in possession against the demand of a trustee in bankruptcy for possession, made in bad faith and without legal justification or so lacking in substance and merit as to amount to a mere pretense. 9 Am J2d Bankr § 52.
