temporary administrator
An administrator of a decedent's estate appointed for some cause, such as the pendency of a will contest, whereby regular administration is delayed, the property being exposed in the meantime to waste and loss in the absence of an authorized agent to collect the debts and preserve the assets. 31 Am J2d Ex & Ad § 649.
