Soil Bank Act

Soil Bank Act
A federal statute designed to assist farmers in diverting a portion of their crop-land from production, thereby avoiding the accumulation of excessive agricultural commodities, and to promote soil conservation, by providing for payments to them in consideration of their putting a certain amount of their crop-land in "soil bank," that is taking it out of production, at least out of production of certain crops. United States v Maxwell (CAS Iowa) 278 F2d 206.
