sluiceway
Artificial watercourse, usually constructed for taking water from a natural watercourse for use in mining or industry. A sluiceway over reclaimed flats, through which the tide ebbs and flows, is not a watercourse. Chamberlain v Hemingway, 63 Conn 1, 27 A 239.
