Demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge. A gift of money or other aid, as by a grant of free tuition, to help a particular student maintain the financial burden of attending college or university, sometimes under conditions, such as services of the donee in teaching or as a laboratory assistant or participation by the donee in athletics. 15 Am J2d Colleges § 18.
