sacramentum decisionis
(Civil law.) The oath of decision, the voluntary and decisive oath whereby the suit could be decided, if the other party, not being able to prove his charge, offered to refer the decision to the oath of his adversary. If the latter refused, the charge was taken as confessed by him. See 3 Bl Comm 342.
