The report of a referee to whom a case has been referred, made and returned to the court which ordered the reference, showing the proceedings had before him, his findings of fact and conclusions of law, and in some jurisdictions in certain cases, the decision of the referee upon the whole case. 45 Am J1st Ref §§ 29 et seq.
