The cubical contents of a ship expressed in tons, or the amount of weight which she will carry as entered upon some official record. The carrying capacity of a ship, measured in tons, as stated in the ship's papers under which she is sailing. See Reck v Phenix Ins. Co. 130 NY 160, 164.
