Examining the jurors individually to ascertain whether they are unanimous in support of the verdict. 53 Am J1st Trial § 1015. A procedure whereby each juror is asked individually the finding at which he has arrived, creating individual responsibility by requiring each juror to answer for himself, and affording the court an opportunity to ascertain with certainty that a unanimous verdict has in fact been reached and that no juror has been coerced or induced to agree to a verdict to which he has not fully assented. 21 Am J2d Crim L § 371.
