paper title
A title to real estate supported by a chain of conveyances. A title sufficient in support of a plaintiff in ejectment where consisting of a regular chain of title from the government or from some grantor in possession, or a regular chain of title back to the common source from which both plaintiff and his adversary claim. 25 Am J2d eject § 24. A plausible rather than a sound title. See color of title.
