All right; correct. 1 Am J2d Abbr § 7. An abbreviation frequently used in the commercial world signifying the signer's approval of the instrument on which he indorses it. The origin of the term "O.K." is obscure. While there are various explanations of the origin, none is well-grounded. It has, however, a well-defined meaning in common and commercial usage. Anything said to be "O.K." is understood to be all right or correct. Lithographical Printing Co. v Chase, 149 Mass 459, 21 NE 765; Morganton Mfg. Co. v Ohio River & C. R. Co. 121 NC 514, 28 SE 474.
