A conveyance of a landowner's interest in minerals lying beneath the surface. 24 Am J1st Gas & O § 28. A conveyance by an owner of land of minerals therein, figuratively severing the minerals from the surface and vesting title to them in the grantee. 36 Am J1st Min & M § 32.
