lucid interval

lucid interval
A period of sanity intervening periods of insanity. The term means more than a mere remission of the manifestations of a person's insanity. It must be such a full return of his mind to sanity as places him in possession of the powers of his mind, enabling him to understand and transact his affairs as usual. Ekin v McCracken (Pa) 11 Phila, 534, 539.
