limited divorce
Otherwise known as a divorce from bed and board or divorce a mensa et thoro. Kelley v Kelley, 183 Or 169, 191 P2d 656. A divorce which varies in its consequences from state to state, but may be defined generally as a judicial decree which terminates the obligation and right of cohabitation but does not affect the status of the parties as married persons or dissolve the marriage. 24 Am J2d Div & S § 1.
