legislative power
The power to make, alter, and repeal laws. 16 Am J2d Const L § 227. The determination of legislative policy and its formulation and promulgation as a defined and binding rule of conduct. Yakus v United States, 321 US 414, 88 L Ed 834, 64 S Ct 660. That power which in the Federal Government is vested in Congress, and, in the several states, in their state legislatures. 49 Am J1st States § 28.
