last illness
The illness or sickness which was the cause of the decedent's death, covering the period during which it was continuously operative after it became serious or pronounced. Long v Northrop, 225 Iowa 132, 279 NW 104, 116 ALR 1475. In some connections, a sickness from which a person believed he would not recover, and from which he did not recover, but died. Harrington v Stees, 82 Ill 50.
