A committee of Congress established by the Atomic Energy Act, with the authority and duty to make continuing studies of activities of the Atomic Energy Commission and of problems relating to the development, use, and control of atomic energy, and to conduct hearings on the state of the atomic energy industry. 42 USC § 2252.
