adoption of statute
The participation of the legislature in the making of the law, so that the law is "adopted" when it receives the approval of both branches of the legislature. Anne: 132 ALR 1061. In other cases, the term has been construed to mean the date when the act takes effect. 50 Am J1st Stat § 503.
