educational corporation

educational corporation
A corporation not for profit but for an educational purpose, particularly the establishment and maintenance of a school, college, or university. Public or private according to its foundation; founded by private individuals or supported by private funds or privately endowed, it is a private corporation. Founded and supported by the state or a municipal subdivision thereof, it is a public corporation. See 15 Am J2d Colleges § 3.
