derivative conveyances
Conveyances of a secondary sort, which presuppose some other conveyance precedent, and only serve to enlarge, confirm, alter, restrain, restore, or transfer the interest granted by an original conveyance. See 2 Bl Comm 324. Derivative conveyances are releases, confirmations, surrenders, assignments, and defeasances. See 2 Bl Comm 310.
